What is the GED?
The GED is the equivalent of a high school diploma (equivalent to bachillerato or prepa in Mexico). It’s a certification that demonstrates that you have accomplished the level of study equivalent to high school in the United States. It’s never too late to finish school!
When taking GED classes with us, we prepare you to take the GED exam. When you pass the exam, you will receive the GED certificate, which is recognized as a valid substitute for a high school diploma. 98% of universities and colleges in the United States accept the GED in their applications.
With the GED, you can:
Get a better salary or job
Fulfill a DACA requirement to be studying (consult with your lawyer)
Continue studying at the college level (the GED or a high school diploma is a requirement)
Establish your level of study in cases where Bachillerato or a high school degree obtained in another country is not recognized in the United States.
How do you get the GED?
The GED is earned by passing four exams, each dedicated to one of the subjects: language arts, social studies, mathematics, and science. You can study and sit for one exam at a time — you don’t have to take all of the exams in one day.
The speed with which you can be ready to take the exam depends on your level of preparation, if you haven’t studied for a while, the time you invest in studying outside of the classroom, and, most of all, how hard you work!
Our students are adults of all ages — 17 to 65 and over, male and female, and from all countries. There are no educational or immigration status requirements to attend — just effort!
We offer two GED classes each week. The classes are in Spanish with a computer course that allows you to study and take the exams at your own pace.
